Born in Concession and having lived in Clare all his life, Wayne Gaudet understands what it means to live in rural Nova Scotia. At an early age he learned the importance of hard work and commitment realizing that anything you do is worth doing well.
Wayne holds a Bachelor of Arts from l'Universite Sainte-Anne and a Bachelor of Education from St. Mary’s. Wayne has been an active leader in his community starting with his career as an educator and administrator at Clare District High School.
Wayne Gaudet has served Nova Scotians in many distinguished positions since he was elected to the Nova Scotia Legislature as the MLA for Clare in 1993. Since then, he has served as Minister of Agriculture and Marketing, Minister of Human Resources, Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs, Minister of Education and Culture, Minister of Business and Consumer Affairs, Minister responsible for Acadian Affairs and Speaker of the House.
Wayne Gaudet has twice been Interim Leader of the Liberal Party and continues to hold his position as Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly.
