The Pictou County Roots for Youth Society
MLAs Zach Churchill and Kelly Regan featured in the photo visiting Roots for Youth in New Glasgow The Roots for Youth Society is based in New Glasgow but offers services to areas to all of Pictou County. The organization works with young people to develop and provide services so they are supported in getting to adulthood safely and with independence, responsibility, and self sufficiency.
Youth homelessness is an issue across Nova Scotia, impacting both rural and urban communities. Roots for Youth offers laundry services, meals and resources to homeless and needy youth in the area. Their goals are to provide youth in Pictou County the basic human right to be safe, secure and in a caring environment, while looking to create solutions that meet the housing needs of youth.
