Pat Connolly Dinner
Last Wednesday I attended the Pat Connolly Tribute Dinner in Dartmouth. The legendary sportscaster and journalist was honoured by the Dartmouth-Cole Harbour Federal Liberal Association and more than 200 attendees.Pat was born and raised in Nova Scotia and began his career in 1945 spending the next six decades playing a prominent role in sports media in the province. He has been the voice of the Nova Scotia Voyageurs, Nova Scotia Oilers, Halifax Citadels and Halifax Mooseheads. In addition, Pat has dedicated countless hours to community, sports and charitable organizations, serving on numerous boards and committees. In 2006 he received an Honorary Doctor of Laws Degree from Saint Mary's University, and in 2009 he was inducted into the Nova Scotia Sports Hall of Fame.
Mike Savage put it best… “It was a fabulous night”. I couldn’t agree more. A fitting tribute for an amazing Nova Scotian.
