NDP Government Not Listening To Small Business: Liberals
(Halifax, NS) Liberal finance critic Leo Glavine says the NDP government disrespected Nova Scotia’s small business community by failing to send an elected member of government to this morning’s Canadian Federation of Independent Business’ pre-budget consultation. The CFIB met with small business owners from communities as far away as New Glasgow, Greenwood, Amherst and Antigonish to hear their concerns about the upcoming budget.
“The voice of business owners have been noticeably absent in the Finance Minister’s pre-budget roadshow,” said Glavine. “These are the people that create jobs in the province and the NDP government couldn’t be bothered to send one elected member to hear their concerns.”
The CFIB is a non-partisan organization that represents 5,200 business owners in Nova Scotia.
“Small business is the backbone of this province’s economy,” says the Kings West Liberal MLA. “Graham Steele should be engaging the small business community, not ignoring them.”
